Some bad news... for now that is, here's some official word from EA concerning hardware requirements and not working graphics cards:
"Dear C&C Generals,
Many players have been asking about a variety of unsupported vid cards. Here is a list of cards we DON'T support. Many of the cards haven't had updated drivers available for a while - thus they don't reliably support DX8.1. There is nothing we can do about this. You should contact that particular manufacturer is see if driver updates are available.
- Intel(R) 82810E Graphics Controller
- 3D Prophet 4500 TV Out (Kyro or Kyro 2)
- NVIDIA GeForce 256 or 256 DDR
- voodoo5 5500 AGP
- NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64/Model 64 Pro
- S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR
We're sorry but the system specs are noted on the box and there's little we can do if a system is below spec...however unpleasant that is to hear.

Its a shame that you make such a good game but when half the population buys it they cant play it cus you dont support half the good graphics cards. Well done EA my hats off to you keep up the good work not.

infact deserves the best game ever made award if there is one, but if you have battlefeild 1942 and comand and conquer generals on your hard drive c&c
keeps on makin bf crash or sudenly stop, we have tried all the possibilities but it comes down to this c&c generals and bf 1942 dont get on, this has hapened on both of my mates pcs totally different range eg 1 being a power house and the other being just been able to play the games but bf doesnt make generals crash but c&c makes it crash and im not the only one to say this but its pretty pissing off when your in the middle of an online game and it crashes also weve had anti
virus programs on and off but while in a game and out but c&c keeps makin bf 1942 crash (note both games are published by ea games and are kept in the ea games folder on the players pc)
If possible could you please look into this im no expert and weve tried everything psif you could get this note to the game makers/publishers anyway possible I and many others would be most greatful

Tip of the day,,, when you make a game include ALL drivers with the pakage and make it completely obvious whitch systems will/will not run the game. Not everyone is a computer wizard. I will be watching your progress.
